This is a great video! Share with all the men in your life. They do matter!
Thanks for a great Mothers Day at church! I loved the little brunch and time to mingle and talk to each other! I loved the Spirit of the Lord with us, the great company of friends, and the chocolate was great also.

Hop on Over - Recipes
Great event last night!
Everyone did great! I learned a lot!
Here are some of the recipes from the party.
Tripe Berry Smoothie
2 cups of mixed frozen berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
1 cup of apple juice 3/4 cup of vanilla flavored yogurt
1 scoop of vanilla frozen yogurt
*Mix all ingredients together and add more apple juice if needed.
Orange Dream Smoothie
1 container of vanilla frozen yogurt or ice cream
1-2 cups orange juice
Tropical Mango Smoothie (Lactose free)
2 cups frozen mango, papaya, and strawberry blend (found at Costco)
1 1/3 cup coconut milk
2 teaspoon honey
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Fruit Dip
6-8 ounce tub of mascarpone cheese
1/4 cup honey Mix both ingredients together with spoon.
Turbo Hummus
(adapted from Alton Brown by Belinda and Hillary Pond)
(We almost always double this recipe in our 14-cup food processor)
1-2 cloves garlic (or jarred, minced garlic)
1 can garbanzo beans (drained and rinsed)
2 T. tahini (sesame seed butter found near peanut and almond butter in health food section)
2 T. dried parsley (or 1/4 c. fresh)
1 lemon, zested and juiced
Pinch freshly ground pepper
1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
1/4 c. extra-virgin olive oil
In food processor, chop the garlic finely. Add the beans and chop. You may have to scrap a few times. Add tahini, parsley, lemon zest and juice, pepper and salt. Process until it forms a paste. Drizzle in the olive oil and process until it reaches a very smooth consistency. Taste and add more salt, pepper and lemon or lime juice as desired. I have sometimes added jarred, roasted red pepper as well. The options for add ins are endless!

Church History DNA Research
I thought I would send you this link of my Cousin's Husbands web site. :-)
They are currently living in Rome and he does DNA and Genetics research. Super interesting stuff on his web site below. Just in case any of you are interested. He is also in charge of the Seminary and Institute program in Rome. His whole little family just moved there. What a great experience.
For his hobby he has done a lot of research on Joseph Smith DNA.
If he ever comes into the area I would love to have him do a Fireside. Maybe one day.

Voting time is coming around the corner!
Be sure to attend your Caucus Meeting! Very important!
First up is the Republican Caucus Meeting on March 3rd! Next up Democrat April 15th! If you have never attended a Caucus meeting- now is the time to do it! I did it last time around and found it very interesting. I will add some links so you can find out where your district is meeting. Or Google it.
Great time to be involved in your community! Here is a First Presidency message about it also. http://www.mormonnewsroom.org/
Don't be afraid you don't know what you are doing or are not an expert. You just have to know what you want in your next president. :-)
YOUR VOTE DOES COUNT!
CAUCUS VOTES ARE HUGE THIS TIME AROUND!

Washing Machine up for grabs!
Dear Sisters,
We have a washing machine that we are replacing. It is a seven-year old, Kenmore front-loader and is mostly very serviceable. On occasion the door locking mechanism won't work. Then a few days later it will work. We had the door lock replaced a year ago. The part is about $50. Replacing that part again may or may not solve the problem. If anyone needs a washing machine and would like to take on this adventure, please let me know. We have a pick-up truck and can take it to your house, but will probably take it to the recycle center if we don't hear from anyone by Tuesday or Wednesday (1/17 or 1/18). Please contact me directly. The info is below.
Hope this will be of use to someone!
